About Happy
Tails Lodge
A Clinic, a Barn, and Three Acres That Went to the Dogs (in the Best Way)
Happy Tails Lodge opened in 2002 in a building that started life as a veterinary hospital for pets and horses.
Over the years, the three acres became play yards. The interior became boarding suites and a grooming salon. The round barn was rebuilt as an open indoor play space with a heated floor. In 2014 we added the Happy Tails Pet Styling Academy, where we train the next generation of professional groomers.
We have, quite literally, gone to the dogs.
And we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Everything Under
One Roof
Boarding, daycare, grooming, and training all run out of the same building. A dog can board for a week, play with a well-matched group every day, work on recall with our trainer, and go home with a fresh haircut — without ever being handed off to a stranger.
Two other services go past the property line. Our retail store carries natural foods, treats, toys, and supplies picked by people who spend all day with animals, including a growing shelf of Made in Montana brands. And the Bark Bus, our custom pet shuttle, brings pets in for their appointments and delivers food and supplies straight to your door.
We also train the next generation. The Happy Tails Pet Styling Academy has been turning animal lovers into professional pet stylists since 2014, which is why the person grooming your dog learned the craft here.
